NEFR 2017

National Electric Flight Rally [NEFR] 2017 held at Easter

Parl House

Once again the event will be held at the NAAS Willie Emmet Field, at Easter 14th - 16th April 2017. Below are various links giving more  details.  Keep checking this page for updates. All entrants automatically become members of AEFA, if not already. The event is also the AEFA AGM which is held in conjunction with a dinner at Vikings Club on the Saturday night.

Canberra is a great place to bring the family where they can watch you fly, then go off to any number of interesting sites not too far from the field - see some examples further down the page. Maybe you have a family member who would like to try a Radian event - if under 18, they are charged reduced fees.

Entry Fees and Form

The admin fee is $50 which covers the costs of running the rally, as we don't charge membership fees to belong to the AEFA. In addition there is a $10 per event entry fee which is capped at $50 when 5 or more events are entered. The entry form is used to enter the contest, and to reserve your meal(s) at the AGM dinner ($45 / head) on Saturday night/or and the famous NAAS Spit Roast dinner and dessert ($25 / head) on Sunday.

To minimise data entry errors, the entry form is available in Excel format only and contains data validation rules to  reduce mistakes. If you are comfortable using Excel click here to download the form. Once downloaded, go to your downloads folder and double click the NEFR2017_Registration_Form.xlsx and complete.  Then use the main menu options File | Share | Email (attachement) to send the completed form to the treasurer at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you are not familiar with Excel, please contact David Lucas, AEFA Treasurer via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or on 0412 328 347 who will be happy to help you enter the Rally.

All fees must be paid in advance, preferably by EFT as cheques are so cumbersome these days.

AGM & Dinner

The AGM is held at  Vikings Club - 7:00 for 7:30pm, on Saturday April 15th, 2017 Corner Athllon Drive & Rowland Rees Crescent, Greenway ACT 2900 (20 minutes drive from field). The dinner is being held in the Moo Baa room at the back of the restaurant.

This is the time when nominations and voting for the executive committee takes place - so think about who you would like on the committee and nominate them.

Spit Roast Dinner With Dessert

NAAS Club put on a magnificent weber cooked lamb roast and dessert. Last year there were some timing issues but these have been fixed as we saw at the recent Australian F5J Trophy in October. The coast for this dinner is $25 per head for a top two course meal.
